Harrison Ford's plane was made the same year he was born: 1942

LOS ANGELES — They're both "banged" up after Thursday's air-to-ground crash.

While Harrison Ford is "battered, but OK" and recovering from non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital, the vintage plane he was piloting when it fell from the sky due to engine failure is still resting, broken, at a local golf course where they both crashed.

But being out of commission is not all the actor and the small Ryan Aeronautical ST3KR warbird aircraft have in common. Both entered this world in 1942.

This flight wasn't the pair's first adventure, but sadly, it may be their last for some time as the WWII fighter plane is part of an overnight on-scene crash investigation, surrounded by glaring yellow caution tape on a grassy patch of Penmar Golf Course.
