Ferguson mayor: One police employee fired, two suspended over racist emails

A police employee has been fired and another two placed on administrative leave pending an investigation in response to the racist emails uncovered in a Department of Justice report, Ferguson mayor James Knowles said Wednesday.


Knowles read from a short prepared statement and took no questions during a press conference Wednesday evening in which the city responded to the DOJ findings for the first time. Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson was notably absent.
